Prof. Dr. Meinolf Dierkes

Meinolf Dierkes is a co-founder and research director of the inter 3 Institute for Resource Management, and a co-founder of the Nexus Institute for Cooperation Management and Interdisciplinary Research.

After completing his PhD in 1969, Meinolf Dierkes spent many years in Germany and abroad, holding professorships at various universities (University of Washington, Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, INSEAD, Fontainebleau) and was head of the Social Science Research Program at the Battelle Institute Frankfurt. Between 1980 and 1987, he was President of the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB) (Berlin Scientific Research Center for Social Research) and has been the director of the Department for Innovation and Organisation at the WZB since 1988. Since 1989, he has also been professor of the sociology of technology and science at the Technical University Berlin. Meinolf Dierkes was a co-founder of the Center for Technology and Society at the Technical University Berlin and founding dean of the Tel Aviv International School of Management - TISOM between 1996 and 1997.

Meinolf Dierkes specialises in researching the social and cultural conditions of technological development, organisational culture and organisational learning, and transformation processes in different cultural contexts.

He is a member of various boards of trustees and advisory committees, and has consulted several companies - domestic and foreign - in the development of ecological and social balance as well as in the process of change in strategies, outlooks and company culture.

Meinolf Dierkes was born in Hagen in 1941 and has lived in Berlin since 1976.
