At the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management IFAT which takes place between May 14 and 18 in Munich, inter 3 is represented at various events:

inter 3 managing director Dr. Shahrooz Mohajeri chairs the Country Special Iran, a joint event of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Coservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and German Water Partnership (GWP) on Tuesday (May 15). The forum’s topic is "Experience, Solutions, and Challenges: Transformation Needs of the Iranian Water Sector”. Not least the latest political developments make this a particularly interesting event.

International innovations are the topic of the Innovation Forum Water Management, a joint event of DWA, DVGW, BMBF and DBU. inter 3 researcher Wolf Raber presents results of the "IWRM Zayandeh Rud” project module on Capacity Development. The project has been implemented in Iran since 2010. One important result is the establishment of the German-Iranian Training Center for Water and Wastewater Management. Apart from didactical training carried out by DWA, a focus lies on practice-oriented training with German technology.

The article "Bringing an IWRM Concept into Practice” that has just been published in the KA International Special Edition provides a general overview over the IWRM project. Not only water management challenges but also recent developments in the institutional realm are presented.

inter 3 reasearchers Dr. Till Ansmann and Dr. Özgür Yildiz discuss digital approaches for achieving climate resilience and efficiency in the German water sector. In their article "A ‘yellow phase’ for coping with network load”, published in the IFAT special of the wwt wasserwirtschaft wassertechnik magazine, they present ideas for more flexible infrastructures as reasonable alternative to traditional investment projects.
