Boosting Research Cooperation: The German Science Day in Iran


In the course of the "German Science Day” various events will take place in Tehran and Isfahan within the next days. Successful German-Iranian projects will be presented that can be built on, and possibilities for future research cooperation. The events are hosted by the Iran University of Science and Technology and the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences.

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) co-organized the event and around 70 German representatives from BMBF, different universities and research institutes will travel to Iran. inter 3 researcher Dr. Ali Besalatpour will present the inter 3 institute and its activities in Iran as best practice examples. These include the BMBF research project "IWRM Zayandeh Rud” and the "Development of sustainable land use strategies for climate change adaptation in the lower reaches of the Zayandeh Rud River” project inter 3 carried out on behalf of the GIZ.

The German and Iranian participants will visit different universities and research institutes, and there will be a reception on the invitation of the German Ambassador Michael Klor-Berchtold. For Iran, Germany is an important partner in science and research. Even during the international sanctions lively know-how exchange took place between the two countries.
