Good solutions require robust data and a clear stance: Linnert Steffens explores how the economy can be structured in a socially and environmentally just manner. He is particularly interested in global supply chains and the question of how cooperation can be organised along the value chain. At inter 3, he is currently working on how agriculture and water protection can interact sustainably. He takes a data-driven approach, taking into account all stakeholders, from farmers and water suppliers to policymakers. He makes complex topics accessible – a skill he has honed through workshops at schools and universities, as well as through digital communication.
Linnert Steffens studied Philosophy & Economics in Bayreuth and Vienna, as well as Applied Economics at the University of Vienna. Stays in Russia and Georgia gave him insights into regional economies. Positions at the German Society for International Cooperation, the Austrian National Commission for UNESCO and, most recently, at Fairtrade round off his experience. He finds a balance to his project work through cycling and martial arts. Linnert Steffens joined the inter 3 team in October 2026.
