As a sustainability researcher, Pauline Sturm explores how societies can become more resilient in order to effectively tackle global crises such as climate change. She views sustainability not as an add-on, but as a fundamental prerequisite for strategic action – with a particular focus on global supply and value chains. At inter 3, she is currently exploring how security of supply can be guaranteed even in the face of global crises, and how decision-making processes can structurally incorporate the perspectives of previously under-represented stakeholders.
Pauline Sturm studied International Relations and Economics at the University of Erfurt, as well as Sustainability Studies at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Stays abroad in France, Australia and Grenada led her, amongst other things, to conduct research into climate-resilient communities. Following roles at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and German Water Partnership (GWP), she joined the inter 3 team in August 2026.
