The City of Mannheim maintains diverse international municipal collaborations to achieve global sustainability goals. At this year's Urban Thinkers Campus on May 20, 2022, inter 3 will present Municipal Operator Partnerships in an Urban Lab as a promising format for how municipal water management can contribute to this on a global scale. Many countries in the global South could benefit from the know-how of the water industry made in Germany.

What relevance do international operator partnerships in the water sector have for German companies? And how willing are they to get involved in this area?

The four-hour Urban Lab is aimed at representatives of interested cities and companies in the municipal water sector. Shahrooz Mohajeri will present the results of a survey of companies on their potential and interests for discussion. Heiko Heidemann from GIZ will present the digital platform for operator partnerships and Christian Güse from VKU will report on experiences from development cooperation.
