More than 400 participants from 50 countries saw the presentation of the IWRM Zayandeh Rud project at the Deutsches Hygienemuseum in Dresden. The focus of the presentation “Nexus-Oriented Approach for Sharing Water Resources: Development of an Eco-industrial Parks Concept in the Catchment of Zayandeh Rud River, Iran” was on the modelling of the Eco Industrial Park concept for the Morche Khort industrial settlement in Central Iran.

Wolf Raber, inter 3, and Janis von Koerber, Hochschule Magdeburg, presented options and potentials for resource savings as well as hurdles for linking several small industrial units through reuse of (treated) wastewater as process water. The particular case study has been a contribution to the discussion on wastewater reuse using a NEXUS perspective taking ecological, economic and social aspects under consideration.
