How can decentralized wastewater treatment in Iran be organized and implemented? On a workshop on August 2nd and 3rd, 2015, in Iran’s capital Tehran, this issue was discussed at the water and wastewater company, moderated by inter 3 director Dr. Shahrooz Mohajeri. The workshop had been organized by the Training and Demonstration Center for Decentralized Wastewater Treatment (BDZ) from Leipzig, Germany.
The event was part of the preparation of a “BDZ Iran” in Tehran which is being established in the framework of the IWRM Zayandeh Rud project. Capacity development is one of the main pillars of the project and crucial for the implementation of sustainable water management in Iran. After all, technology and knowledge transfer help to strengthen academic and business cooperation between Germany and Iran.
