City of the Future: German-Iranian Conference on Eco-Cities in Tehran

What can a sustainable city in Iran look like? And what can Germany contribute to its development? In the course of a delegation trip of the German Ministry for Building (BMUB) led by the State Secretary Gunther Adler, the „Iranian-German Conference on Eco-Cities“ will take place on November 8. inter 3 manager Dr. Shahrooz Mohajeri will represent the German Water Partnership Board and GWP’s Iran section.

On the panel, Dr. Mohajeri will discuss with political and business representatives about the current state of bilateral cooperation and the most pressing challenges with regards to urban infrastructure development. In the afternoon he will moderate a workshop on future political and economic cooperation of Germany and Iran in the field of sustainable water and wastewater management.

The conference has an explicitly transdisciplinary character, bringing together German and Iranian politicians, business people and scientists. It is hosted by the “Road, Housing and Urban Development Research Center” (BHRC) in Tehran. Further cooperation partners are BMUB, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and New Town Development Corporation (NTDC).
