Since 2016, a total of 45 projects in 32 target countries have been financed by the water management funding programme of the export initiative. Examples include country studies, capacity development, feasibility studies, pilot and model projects. What impact do these projects have individually and collectively? This question is being investigated by a research network established at the beginning of the year.

Identifying success factors for export initiatives

The extremely water-scarce country of Jordan is an important target country for the export initiative, which has sponsored 5 projects in Jordan since 2016. Until autumn of 2022, an analysis will be carried out that will not only assess the effectiveness of these projects but also identify and derive key success factors. The results will be compiled into a recommendation manual for the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUV) and participating companies.
