Lena Horlemann

Expert for urban development and participation

Lena Horlemann is a sociologist and is interested in the active participation of civil society in sustainable development. Above all, she wants to promote social innovation and bring people together who want to reinterpret and redesign public space - as sustainably as possible, of course. She is also driven by the question of how conflicts of objectives can be resolved in the most participatory way possible in order to achieve the various sustainability goals.

"What drives me? Always trying out unusual formats for participation, cooperation, collaboration and education."

Lena Horlemann studied Regional Sciences and World Food Economics in Bonn. She has worked on integrated water management in Iran and Mongolia. In Berlin, she has implemented various sustainability projects in public spaces. In addition to her work at inter 3, she teaches at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences and is on the board of the NGO Berlin 21.
