This publication documents the results and content evaluation of the 2014 People and Successes competition round "Places of Culture and Encounter - Making Rural Areas Liveable and Lovable" and presents 36 exemplary examples of rural infrastructure offerings.

The competition is part of the Rural Infrastructure Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and is designed to support civic engagement and cooperation between communities and various stakeholder groups to maintain rural infrastructure offerings through targeted knowledge transfer.
