Planning and managing drinking water supply systems based on demand

With DEMAPLAN, inter 3 has developed a software toolbox that provides water utilities with an overview of the development of demand in their supply area and thus enables demand-oriented infrastructure planning. For the first time, a tool is available that allows utilities to analyze and influence consumption patterns of their customers while considering sustainable resource use and economic efficiency of the supply system. Especially for countries with growing populations, scarce water resources and large fluctuations in water consumption, this is of enormous importance for sustainable regional water management.

Demand-driven offers and incentives for sustainable water consumption

The brochure, published bilingually in English and Farsi, describes the development of the toolbox and provides information on the measurement methodology, measurement technology, data evaluation and implementation of the DEMAPLAN toolbox. Consumption patterns of different customer groups are presented in detail and country-specific differences between the pilot regions in Germany and Iran are elaborated.
