Urban Safety-3D − Guide for safety assessments

Die subjektive Sicherheitswahrnehmung im Blick

Focusing on the subjective perception of safety

Assessing and improving the safety perception of the population living in cities were the central objectives of the recently completed Urban Safety-3D project. Results of the project include a web-based software , developed with the support of inter 3, and an action guide as decision-making tools for spatial safety assessments.

New tool for urban safety assessment

Based on digital building data, a pioneering software tool has been developed, helping to systematically carry out empirically based safety assessments regarding the subjective perception of safety.

The guide supports urban planners, security experts and decision makers to design more security in urban areas in participatory decision-making processes with local citizens, in particular through using the digital planning aid.
